CDV of Daniel Kilby Pomroy (1832-1872), Native of Charlotte, Maine

Carte de Visite, CDV, of a man identified on the reverse as "Daniel Kilby Pomroy, father of Eva A. Pomroy; Grandfather of Millard F. Coffin, who was born March 31st 1881"

Daniel Kilby Pomroy (1832-abt 1872), a mariner, was born in Charlotte, Maine, the son of Benjamin L. Pomroy (1801-1874) and Lucretia Hussey (Morgan) Pomroy (1808-1873). Daniel married Margaret Gullifer of Bangor, Maine, in 1855. They had, I believe, 3 children, one of whom was the Eva A. Pomroy (abt 1860-1943) mentioned on the reverse.

Eva married George W. Coffin, and they had son Millard F. Coffin (1881-1926) born in 1881, as mentioned.  His FindaGrave memorial gives his full name as Millard Fillmore Coffin, which does seem logical.  George Coffin's middle initial appears as W in an inscription in an autograph album he presented to Eva in 1878, the year before their marriage. However, the stone that appears on his FindaGrave memorial shows George M. Coffin.
The blog Heirlooms Reunited features two autograph albums with connections to the Pomroy and Gullifer families, one that belonged to Eva A. Pomroy herself and another that belonged to Eva's maternal cousin Nellie F. Barker:
  1. Autograph Album Presented in 1878 to Eva A. Pomroy of Bangor, Maine, by Future Husband George W. Coffin   - among the many sentiments are those from members of the Pomroy, Austin and Barker families.
  2. 1880s Autograph Album of Nellie F. Barker of Bangor, Maine - which contains the sentiment, shown below, of Eva's younger sister, Lillie F. Pomroy, who would marry Edward P. Austin. Lillie and Eva were cousins to Nellie F. Barker through her mother, Frances (Gullifer) Barker, "Fanny". Among the other inscribers were members of the Austin and Barker families.
